Happy Birthday x 5

There are 5 birthdays in September in our family.  So we gave them one big September birthday party.  The cake (I forgot to take a close up so click on it for a closer look) had the birthday boys names on it.  I thought it was cute - I mean, a good cake for boys.

Is there such thing as a 'Brain Cloud'?

I ran into my cousin Liz last night and was mildly scolded for not blogging often enough.  

I know!  I HAVE A BRAIN CLOUD.  I am in a blogging funk.  True I could post the pictures of my other daughters blue bedroom that I recently painted, but she didn't make her bed AGAIN today and I can't bring myself to do it for her.   And, of course, I can't take a picture of her room when her beds not made - right?

I could tell you about the cookies I finished yesterday, but they are a repeat of some I have already done - so that's not exciting.

I could tell you that I am trying so hard to eliminate processed food and sugar from my diet and that I didn't even snitch one cookie yesterday.  Yea for me - but who really cares.

I could tell you that my dog Rusty has not given up sugar and in the last week he has consumed; one partly frosted cake I was working on, two cookies off the counter, and half of a peanut butter jelly sandwich that I was packing in my sons lunch box this morning.

I could tell you about how I almost killed my dog - no really - I about did.

In the meantime, hang in there and I will try to pull out of my brain cloud.  For now, I am off to clean my house, and make a cake.

I finished this cake today and painted my other daughters bedroom.  (I will post pictures later).

The Weekend!

We had fun hanging out with friends in Show Low this weekend.

My favorite part of the trip was playing ball in the rain.

We hit the local rodeo and watched the poor cows get roped.

And the kids were lucky enough to score a horse ride from Chad and Laura.  (They have never been on a horse before).

Thank Heaven!

The day has arrived!!!!!!   Nathan can finally mow the lawn. It's a good thing.

As promised, here is a picture of my daughters freshly painted room.  I still don't have anything on the wall yet, but I like the green.

Here's a cake I worked on with my friend Jen.  She baked and designed it - I just helped.  I love the Chinese theme.  (It says congratulations in Chinese - Brandi just got her bachelors degree).
