Making the Cut

I had a friend ask the other day why I took her blog link off my blog.  I felt terrible that she thought she didn't make the cut. (As if being linked on my blog is something to be desired)

The truth is, when I redid my blog a while back, I just never took the time to finish adding all my blog links.  I still had them where I had access, just to lazy to finish putting them in on my sidbar.

Well, as you can see, I have changed things up a bit, and added as many of my friends and family links as I can think of.  I was checking on you even if you weren't listed.

But I will say, if you drop off the face of the planet in the blogging world (Eldon), you might just get cut after all!

Working

Well, I officially start working tomorrow (officially meaning some steady, set hours).   Job description:  keep the cupcake counter stocked with pretty and delicious cupcakes, and make decorations for specialty cakes.  Can I do this, be a wife, mother, go to school, train for the next race, and be a great cub scout den leader?  I sure hope so!  Here's to a new year!!!!

PS - If you live in the Gilbert area, drop on by and check us out!  Designer Cakes is located across the street from the San Tan Mall right by Carrabba's restaurant.  You won't be disappointed!

Rest in Peace

Yesterday morning, my daughter came downstairs in tears, to inform me that Tina had passed away.

We received Tina (named after "Tina the fat lard" on Napoleon Dynamite) last year as a white elephant gift. My daughter lovingly took the pet for her own and has cared for her faithfully for the last year.

When she wasn't looking, I put some gloves on and gently laid Tina in the green recycling bin.
Goodbye little hamster! Now we might get some sleep without you running on your wheel all night.

Just the same - we will miss you!

Ragnar Rundown

Oh what a fun weekend!!!  Bear with me as I post a bunch of random pictures from the Ragnar Relay LA!  Here we all are at the finish line at Dana Point.  Yippeee!!
Check out our cool team shirts that me and Wendi made!
(We all live in the "Villages" community,  thus - The Village People).
Here's Jeff handing off to me at exchange 36.
Could you ask for a better view while running?
My husband had to be funny and wear short running shorts and spandex just to make us all laugh.   He kept us laughing the entire time!
Here we are at the start line full of nerves and excitement.  It was cold in Santa Barbara!  BRrrrr!
Here we are handing off again!
Van 2 waiting for the handoff.
Here's the whole team crossing the finish line together!!!
Here we are tanking up getting ready for our next run.
Good times.... good times!!!

The Best Email Ever!

I received the sweetest email from a mother in Texas who actually made my cornflake ball recipe with her children.  They loved them and she even sent me pictures of her cute kids and all the gooey fun!  I just had to post them.  When I blog, I do it for me - to record things I have done and yummy things I have made.  It just tickles me pink to think someone else is enjoying these things as well.  Thanks again Clyde from Texas!

The Neverending To Do List

I am leaving for Santa Barbara in the morning - Ragnar Relay LA!!
Do you ever feel like the stress of getting ready to go out of town is so high, it just might not be worth going?  That's how I am feeling today.  The list is big my friends - it's BIG!

Ah - but what am I complaining about?  I get to go and run 18 miles on Friday.  I should be jumping for joy.  (yes, I am being sarcastic).  It sounded like such a good idea a month ago.

Alrighty then.  Wish me luck and off I go to get something done.  Be back Monday with some sore muscles.  Yup - good and sore.

Confessions and Farewells

Confession:  I am addicted to checking my blog comments.  No really - I am.  I waste valuable time stopping to log on and see if anyone commented on my latest post.  I am ashamed to admit it, but there you have it.
Farewell:  I will no longer allow comments on my blog.  I hate to do this because I love all the positive feed back.  (I know, pathetic isn't it).  But it's time to cut the cord.

Family and friends all have my email, so if you are so inclined to comment, you know where to find me.

Thanks to those who have left their positive and well thought out comments - even if you didn't agree with me; it has been a pleasure.

I am ready to stand on my own two feet now. So, come Monday morning,  I am kicking my habit and will continue to blog - comment free.

Sneak Peek!

My sister and I finished the silhouette cookies of Christian and Stephanie to be sold at the Mindy Gledhill concert.  All the profits will be donated.  Don't you want to buy a yummy cookie?  (Come on, please buy one!  I hand piped those with LOVE!)

Just Keep Smiling!

This is a busy week.  It's seems like I am always saying that - but it really is.  I am working on silhouette cookies for the Mindy Gledhill concert (which you all should have bought tickets for).  They will be for sale in the foyer.  I will post pictures when they are done.  I have outlined over 100 heads in black frosting - AAAHHhhh!

Then I have a beautiful 4 tier wedding cake due Saturday, and a super cute 3 tier birthday cake due Sunday, and a halloween cookie bouquet due Monday.  Did I mention that the laundry is touching the ceiling?  Well it is.  And my floor!  You don't even want to know how sticky it is.

And then I remember that I like to be busy.  I am blessed.  I will keep smiling!

No Time To Think

I've had a lot on my mind lately and feel like blogging about it.  But the truth is, I am to exhausted to blog right now.  This week has been busier than ever and I haven't had time to do anything but keep my head above water.  So I will have some nice deep thoughts for you when I have a moment to spare.  In the meantime, have a lovely weekend!  (Yes that means I will not have a minute to spare until Monday).

Today...

I scheduled myself to paint my daughters bedroom today.  I am feeling a little under the weather, but I am determined to make myself do it anyway.  I think I can, I think I can, I think I can....

Missing

This picture cracks me up (lazy dog walkers).

So are you wondering where I have been?   I am still around but when the kids are home from school, blogging has taken a back seat.  I miss it.

I am putting together a couple of really cool cookie bouquets this week, cleaning my house like a mad woman, packing up the car and going beach camping for a week.

So blog world... bear with me.  I will be back!

Breaking

I am in need of a blog break.  I have everything happening at once and I need to prioritize.  So blogging goes until after the 22nd (schools out).  By the way, I painted my office a crazy lime green and it doesn't go with anything else in my house.  I love it!

Mother's Day wish list...
1. Any and all aprons from Anthropologie.
2.  This peanut butter stirrer -all natural for me.
3.  This egg slicer, apple slicer, or whatever slicer.
I know Mother's Day isn't about the gifts... but it doesn't hurt!

A Day Off

I have a moment free from the kitchen tomorrow.  I have two more closets left to paint!  (I had all the closets redone with new shelves).  I have primed and painted them all except for 2.  I will have them done tomorrow if it kills me!
Wish me luck!

Well, the kids are out of school and Spring Break has officially begun.  The kids and I will be heading to Show Low to stay with my brother and family.  Sammi and I are hitting the slopes for a little one on one time and hopefully we will catch the last snow of the season.

I hate to do it, but I won't be blogging until April.  I am swamped with to many things to do, so I need to step away and be productive for the rest of the month.  Don't worry, I will be back with lot's to blog about.

Until then, have a great Spring Break and a happy Easter!

My Day

Today I will be baking about 80 cookies. (2 baby showers this weekend)
I will be listening to lot's of podcasts and music on my ipod and dreaming about the furniture I want to buy on Craig's List.  And if I finish up before the kids get home from school,  I am going to hit Borders book store and spend my gift card my good friend Angie gave me.
What are you doing today?
